Account maintenance

Yes, you can have multiple joint accounts or investments with multiple owners.

The cutoff period to change your maturity instructions depends on the payment type that was selected. The cutoff periods are as follows:
- Cheque: 20 business days prior to maturity;
- Direct Deposit: 4 business days prior to maturity;
- Oaken Savings Account: 1 business day prior to maturity;
- Renew at maturity: 1 business prior day to maturity.

Yes, you can use any registered savings account as an option when updating your maturity instructions.

To add a Power of Attorney (POA), provide an original or certified true copy of a Power of Attorney for property and a completed Authorized Signatory Form

You can make your changes as follows:
1) Login to Oaken Digital and update your profile or;
2) Send us a signed letter with your changes or;
3) Contact us at 1-855-OAKEN-22 (625-3622). The Oaken team is available from Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 10:00pm and Saturday 9:00am – 5:00pm ET.

Yes, you will have the same options for beneficiary planning.

Update maturity instructions of your registered GIC and select the registered savings account that you would like the registered funds to be moved to at maturity.

Please note that when selecting your registered savings account, it must be the same product type (e.g., TFSA GIC can only payout into a TFSA Savings Account).

You can make the updates as follows:
1) Login to Oaken Digital and send us a secure message with the names of the new beneficiaries or;
2) Send us a signed letter with your changes
