We're pleased to announce our sponsorship of the 2nd annual Covenant House Guts + Glory Corporate Challenge, set to take place at the Mattamy Athletic Centre on Wednesday, February 8. Last year’s event raised $370,000 for Covenant House, and this year organizers are aiming for $400,000 in total donations.
“We believe strongly in supporting community initiatives, and we're especially delighted to be an official sponsor of this important Covenant House fundraiser,” said Benjy Katchen, Executive Vice President, Deposits & Consumer Lending. “Covenant House does commendable work helping at-risk young people. and we're honoured to be part of this year’s Guts + Glory Corporate Challenge.”
Covenant House is Canada’s largest agency dedicated to helping homeless and vulnerable youth. In Toronto alone, there are an estimated 2,000 young people on the streets each day, and Covenant House is instrumental in providing emergency shelter and long-term residential programs to provide a safe, welcoming environment.
In addition to the corporate sponsorship, we'll also be entering a team to compete in a series of physically-demanding challenges. Points are awarded for each challenge completed, and at the end of the night the winning team will be declared. But regardless of which team accumulates the most points during the event, all participants can celebrate in knowing that their efforts and the donations they've raised will be used by Covenant House to provide much needed services to the community.
